Marketing
Year 1: 12 Credits

Prerequisite: 2 years math

Two blocks of classroom time and one block of school store are the three blocks required for Marketing. The Marketing Program explores the world of human relations and communication skills, economics, employability and leadership skills. Marketing math, entrepreneurship, and an introduction to retail and small business management are areas of study. Students will be exposed to the total operation of the Falcon’s Nest, our school store, to include: taking inventory, pricing and ordering merchandise, stocking shelves, customer relationships, advertising, and cashing out. Membership in DECA is required.

Year 2: 12 credits

Prerequisite: successful completion of Marketing 1

Two blocks of classroom time and one block of school store are the three blocks required for Marketing. Students complete training in economics and selling skills and continue their employability and leadership training with a variety of leadership and career development conferences. Included in the second year curriculum are units on distribution, advertising, management, merchandise display, product knowledge merchandising, and salesmanship. Membership in DECA is required.

Embedded Credit: Program Completer shall receive embedded academic math credits that can be used to satisfy graduation requirements.
